Updated: June 9, 2025
The Changing Environment
Brooklyn Youth Chorus updates its health and safety policies and protocols on a regular basis. Please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time with questions or concerns.
-
Brooklyn Youth Chorus strongly encourages choristers to be up to date with all vaccinations including COVID-19 for the safety of themselves and the greater Brooklyn Youth Chorus community. The latest COVID-19 vaccination guidelines can be found on the NYC COVID-19 vaccination page.
-
Brooklyn Youth Chorus does not currently require singers, staff, faculty, or visitors to wear masks during rehearsals or performances though it respects members of the community who choose to do so.
Brooklyn Youth Chorus respects and follows the policies of the venues where rehearsals and events take place outside of its headquarters.
-
Hand sanitizer and masks are available at all in-person rehearsal, lesson, and performance spaces.
-
Should your chorister be ill on a rehearsal day they should NOT attend rehearsal.
Should your chorister be recovering from a mild cold or other illness where their symptoms are getting better overall AND they have not had a fever for at least 24 hours (and are not using fever-reducing medication) they may return to rehearsal. You may want to take added precaution over the following five days including wearing a mask during rehearsal/performance to help prevent the spread of any and all illnesses.
